Candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, PE is required, and at least 5+ years experience as a design/structural engineer (residential, industrial and commercial buildings). Work closely with project teams on preparation of front end estimates on large growth projects using Aspen Icarus Kbase software. Prepare detailed project estimates using MC2-ICE estimating tool. Maintain estimating database for all disciplines. Supervise estimating work done by outside engineering companies. Perform risk analysis on project estimates using Monte Carlo analysis or Crystal Ball tools. Maintain and update engineering estimation procedures as necessary. Continue to improve estimating systems and processes by conducting benchmark studies with engineering and industrial companies. Assist in the scoping of major projects in the development of basis estimating work breakdown structures. Review major and minor project estimates generated by in house contract estimators. Conduct training on new estimating procedures and software packages. Act as a resource to enforce corporate and SM Engineering estimating policies and procedures. Maintain estimating database (labor factor) to drive productivity improvement with cost plus contractors. Assist with detailed project estimates and Icarus estimates on projects in Specialty Materials Engineering outside the Richmond Region.

QUALIFICATIONS:
<br>

<br>
BS in Engineering discipline. 15+ years of recent experience in project management or process plant estimating. Substantial estimating experience with projects over $5M (capital). Expert skills with estimating software tools (Aspen Icarus Kbase desired). Experience with both domestic and foreign projects. Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification or equivalent experience implementing continuous improvement processes. Strong working knowledge of chemical plant operations and procedures. Microsoft Word and Excel.

Position: Function as a Civil Field Engineer for the Blue Grass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot plant BGCAPP, reporting to the Lead Civil Field Engineer group supervisor.<br>

Work Location: Blue Grass Army Deport, Madison County , KY.  Unescorted access to the project site candidate must successfully clear National Agency Check  NAC. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site.<br>

Responsibilities include:<br>

Provides technical direction to the Civil Superintendent and crafts.<br>
<br>
Performs inspections and documentation of all civil work in progress on a daily basis<br>

Perform constructability reviews of issued concrete rebar placement drawings<br>

Perform constructability reviews of issued structural steel drawings and rebar fabrication detail drawings<br>

As a Forensic Consultant (Structural Engineer), you will provide residential and commercial site investigations to determine the cause and origin of structural failures, damages or defects. Provide detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of the damages to clients. You will have client interaction on a regular basis, including marketing of services when not directly working on a job. Must be able to communicate with all levels of personnel and clients both verbally and written. Travel may be extensive depending on the clients needs.<br>
