Nascent project in need of an electric guitarist who is an understated, but technically proficient and knowledgeable of theory, player. Someone with an emphasis on melody and texture, rather than flash or dominating arrangements. Ideally you're a bit of an effects nut (but not too overboard) and interested in experimenting with tone and avoiding rock cliches.

If, in addition to electric guitar, you play acoustic twelve string, that would be pretty helpful to what I have in mind too.

Tuesday Open Mic at Poe's Pub. SIGN UP starts at about 8:15 or so, and music starts at 9. Each act gets 3-4 tunes, depending on the number of people signed up. Hi all

I'm looking for an opportunity to play a good, varied mix of classic rock styles. Something that moves the mind and feet. An up and running project would be great, but willing to build with the right folks.

To me, classic rock can go from rock to blues to hard rock to ballads to funky soul to many other places.

I like tight arrangments but also enjoy improvising around themes (like live Zep, Dead, Police). Would like to play recognizable songs that nobody hear much or does (that fine line).

Bands cld include Led Zep, Beatles, Rush, RCHP, Mother's Finest (anybody remember them?),Deep Purple, Sly, Stevie (RV and Wonder), Aerosmith, U2, Heart, Mellencamp (esp w Kenny Arnoff), Yes, Zz (pre-eliminator when Frank Beard grooved), GFR, Foghat, Clapton, Dylan, Steely Dan, Eagles, the Mac, Lizzy, Chicago, Queen, anything from Muscle Shoals, Motown or Philly, Southern rock, etc at al (green)

I like a lot of new stuff as well.

Good time, feel and sense of idiom. Good arrangement skills, can chart if need be. Can play most of the �top 1000� rock songs.

Professional equipment, incl mics and pa. Can help out on bv's and mediocre lead, if you need it.

I'm a true amateur - I do this because I love it. Would prefer a crowded bar of people who like the tunes for a decent take-home to a dull as dirt corprate gig that pays 3x.

Pls send a set list, influnces, etc w/ reply. I can send a link to video if you like.

Also, will gladly sit-in while your drummer is unavailable.

County Rock band needs a talented rhythm guitarist for established band. We practice Thursday nights and are looking to begin playing out as soon as possible. We have venues that want us to play now, but we just replaced our lead singer and are now replacing our rhythm guitarist. Early Genesis? Brian Eno? Any 70s art-rock act you can name?

Twentysomething wants to get together with any creative people who do. I have some rudimentary keyboard and guitar skills; good with coming up with weird chord progressions, and adding texture and atmosphere to other people's material. Am pretty good with words. Can even carry a tune slightly if need be.

Not seeking anyone in particular, just musicians to form some of loosely confederated project. Play flute or violin? Sure. You're actually three keyboard players? No problem.

And other influences? Well, I like classical music of the late-romantic/impressionist period, jazz fusion, 60s pop like Bacharach and The Kinks and Brian Wilson, psychedelia not in the Grateful Dead style, Stereolab and Tortoise type post-rock, clever indie rock like Guided By Voices and Sonic Youth, ethereal stuff like The Cocteau Twins, a lot of classic rock. Steely Dan is pretty awesome.

What we're not looking for: metal, covers, punk, screamo/emo whatever the kids are listening to these days, dance beats, southern rock, the rootsy bluegrass/blues stuff that's so popular now, hipsters, jam bands, or wanky shredders.
