Preferred Qualifications:<br>

•	Knowledge of the principles of museum education.<br>

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Affordable, permanent housing remains very difficult to obtain and maintain for many in the Greater Richmond and Petersburg Areas. Low-income individuals and families struggle with locating safe affordable housing that meets their needs. Housing barriers make this process even more difficult. <br>
<br>
The Housing Resource Center (HRC) is designed to minimize the challenges of obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. The Housing Resource Center is for individuals and families with housing barriers who are trying to locate and maintain housing. The HRC is not designed to take the place of case management services.  <br>
<br>
This newly created housing specialist position will assist with addressing these barriers utilizing The American Recovery Reinvestment Act’s Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) funding awarded to VSH through the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).  This expanded geographic area includes Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Hopewell, Hanover, Goochland, Powhatan, New Kent, and Charles City.  <br>
<br>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  The primary focus of this position is the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) component of the Housing Resource Center, but may include, in certain cases, the Shelter Plus Care and A Place to Start (APTS) programs.  The Housing Specialist reports to the Director of Housing Access Programs.  <br>
<br>
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:<br>
<br>
	Assist with the development and operation of the HPRP component of the Housing Resource Center to include, but not limited to the following tasks:  <br>
•	Complete HQS inspections when required by HPRP funding<br>
•	Develop and maintain relationships with landlords in specified community(s) <br>
•	Assist with maintaining/populating findhousingva.org with landlords who have affordable rental housing<br>
•	Conduct housing barrier assessments with appropriate HPRP households<br>
•	Assist with data entry into HCIS system<br>
•	Provide housing location services in specified geographic areas <br>
•	Assist with screening/intake process, when appropriate, for HPRP program<br>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required.  Experience providing permanent housing services and related course work may be substituted, with at least one year’s experience working with low-income and/or homeless adults.  Knowledge of homeless population and resources helpful.  Knowledge of Fair Housing Law preferred.  HQS inspection training/experience preferred. The Worship Leader will lead the weekly worship design/review/planning meeting, along with researching and selecting music as appropriate to the topic and direction of the service.  The Worship Leader shall possess abilities to recognize musical talent from within the congregation and encourage development of these graces.  The Worship Leader will compile an annual budget and be responsible for the purchase of music, equipment and supplies (within the church’s purchasing guidelines).  The Worship Leader works under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and is accountable to the Pastor, Staff-Parish Relations (Personnel) Team and Leadership Team. <br>

QUALIFICATIONS: <br>
A mature, strong, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; gifted in music as an expression of faith and creative artistic discernment.  Technical skills are preferred, to include knowledge of visual illustration software and related needs for band and vocal equipment.  Instrumental and vocal gifts are preferred.  Other qualifications include: be a strong visionary, have leadership and teaching gifts, a desire to inspire creativity, planning and organizational skills; dependability, a developed familiarity in contemporary worship; must posses both self-discipline and self-motivation, be an effective team builder and motivator, and be a competent communicator (both interpersonally and publicly).  <br>

We seek a Virginia resident committed to community building with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people and our allies to increase awareness, education, and successful programs to respond to intimate partner violence, sexual violence, hate crimes, and other forms of violence experienced by LGBTQ individuals in Virginia. This position is funded by a grant that extends through December 2010; an opportunity for continuing work after that date is likely but would be negotiated under a separate agreement. Primary responsibilities will be to accomplish grant deliverables on time and meeting measurable objectives, including creating training curricula, delivering trainings, assisting in the development of best practice protocols and getting those protocols implemented (see specifics below). Secondary responsibilities may include coordination of fundraising tasks, support for board of directors meetings and projects, and maintaining communications interfaces (responding to telephone calls, emails, and other inquiries, and updating portions of the website), as well as any other duties that may be mutually agreed.<br>

This position is open until filled. We anticipate beginning the interviewing process in the first week of November. LGBTQ-identified individuals, survivors of violence, and people of color are particularly encouraged to apply.<br>

JOB DUTIES:<br>

• Assist in developing training curricula on violence in and against the LGBTQ community<br>
• Coordinate, plan and lead ten multi-hour trainings per year in five regions of Virginia<br>
• Prepare materials for trainings<br>
• Conduct five focus groups around the state; gather and compile data<br>
• Analyze results of trainings and focus groups<br>
• Prepare resource guides<br>
• Assist in developing best practice protocols for sexual and domestic violence agencies and LGBTQ organizations<br>

<description><![CDATA[PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:  A Place To Start (APTS), a program of Virginia Supportive Housing (VSH), provides permanent housing and comprehensive mental health services to individuals in the Greater Richmond area (City of Richmond, Chesterfield County, Henrico County) who have a history of chronic homelessness and have a serious mental illness. APTS is a housing first model. Housing First is a model of supportive housing that houses persons who are homeless in permanent housing as a first step in service provision. Comprehensive services (in the form of a state licensed Intensive Community Treatment Team) are then offered to program participants for as long as they may be needed.  The model has been successful in housing and treating chronically homeless persons with a serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. APTS is based on Pathways to Housing, a successful model in New York City and Washington, D. C and replicated in over a dozen urban areas around the nation. Approximately 80% of Pathways’ clients remain stably housed. <br>
<br>
Although scheduled clinical activities occur during normal working hours, a clinical staff member is available to program participants via phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The team rotates on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage.  <br>
<br>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: This position is responsible for providing daily operation and clinical oversight of the APTS ICT team.  Provides supervision and leadership to a diverse staff. Specific duties include staff supervision, staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage, coordination and provision of mental health treatment services, coordination with VSH housing staff to facilitate permanent housing, supervision of clinical records to ensure compliance with all regulating bodies (Medicaid, DMHMRSAS licensing), coordination with community stakeholders, participation in APTS research and evaluation plan, and monitoring of budget, to include billing, with Director of Housing Access Programs.  Performs other work as required. The Team Leader reports directly to VSH’s Director of Housing Access Programs.  <br>
<br>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br>
•	Bachelors Degree in Human Services field with at least three years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness required.  Masters Degree in related field preferred.  <br>
•	Progressively increased responsibilities including supervisory experience required.  <br>
•	Knowledge of the mental health system, community resources, program development, psychotropic medications, and of the Intensive/Assertive Community Treatment Model required.<br>
•	Experience with homeless persons and homeless service system is preferred.<br>
•	Skills in assessing, diagnosing, and formulating treatment goals and implementation of recovery oriented services to persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders required.<br>
•	Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding this population, and experience in Medicaid billing procedures required.<br>
•	Good computer skills required.<br>

Embrace Richmond is a faith based 501c3 charitable organization (www.embracerichmond.org).  We provide aftercare services to formerly homeless families.   We are looking to bring on several AmeriCorps members who have an interest in and a commitment to community development in the inner city.  The ideal candidate would possess experience in one or more of the following areas: community development, case management, urban ministry, pastoral care or small group ministry. The Care Coordinators will follow up with clients moving out of the shelter into the community, facilitate gatherings to address the issues facing the community, empower residence to address the needs in their community and coordinate community based projects in partnership with other agencies, tenant council’s, and clients residing in the community. The Shady Grove Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to serve our Teen programs.  This person will assist in the planning and implementation of program activities.  Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.  Requirements include six months of programmatic experience in group care of children, preferably in a licensed facility.   This person will work with our Teen Drama program, designing the curriculum and performance calendar, instructing the program and evaluating effectiveness. A good driving record is required!  Nights and Weekends are typical shifts for this position!  Some college level courses, CPR and First Aid certifications are highly desirable.  Pay range is $10.29/hour.
