I'm looking to meet or carpool with another person(sex is not important) for the 2017 year. I'm in my 50's, open-minded, average 8-12 mph depending on distance, I like long distances (so far top mileage is 84 miles). Some of the trails I've done is Capital, Tobacco, Mon Trail (WV), Deckers Creek(WV), High Bridge Trail, etc..
Looking to do the following trails this year: Creeper Trail, Green Briar Trail (WV), New River, Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Trail and a few others. I also would like to try to complete the round-trip ride of the Capital Trail in 2017 at 104 miles.
My riding style isn't let's burn up the trail....I like to stop every so often and take photos of wildlife and scenic views. After 50 miles breaks become more frequent so if you're a trail burner we probably won't work together well. I also like quiet time pedaling so if you're an extreme talker......it'll probably not work out. Not saying I don't mind talking every so often but nonstop for 30-40 miles is not what I'm looking for. My vehicle has room for an extra couple of bikes on the bike rack.
I'm looking for someone who likes to be outdoors and in nature....someone who if you saw a turtle along side the trail you'd want to stop and take a photo or two of it before moving on. I'm looking for someone who sees the beauty in nature and enjoys riding a bike. I also want someone who wants to meet the goal of the trail (complete it or a very large part of it) I'm not looking for a 4 to 5 miles peddler.
There's a good chance for 2 day trips at least in 2017. Creeper Trail, Green Briar Trail and New River Trail are all a long distances from Richmond so my view is either motel stay or camp. Those 3 trails should not be the deciding factor on pedaling together...there will be a bunch of local trails within Virginia that I will be riding in 2017....but if you're interested in those 3 then it's an extra bonus.
Shoot me an email..... we can meet up on a local trail and see how it works for us both. If we both enjoy the company then we can plan bike trips for the 2017 year. I really need to get at least 750-1,000 miles on my bike this year. It would be great to share some of those miles with someone else.
