This is a solid copper Victorian paper knife. A lot of people confuse these with letter openers, but it's not. It was used to cut down large sheets of stationery to size for notes, as paper was expensive 125 years ago. 9 inches long x 3/4 of an inch wide
It's solid copper. You can see from the pictures that there's some deformation in the blade as people have probably used it to open up a package. Its rough treatment shows. It's solid, but if you want it perfect, it should probably visit a silversmith to be straightened.
