Vintage Brass or bronze Italian letter opener..about 9 1/2 inches long x 1 1 /4 inch at the widest. The opener is starting to show some verdigris on the handle. The blade is very straight. For an old letter opener, it's never been abused to open a package or to pry open a can. There are some used scratches on the blade, but for the most part, it's in good condition. The tip is a little worn down, but other than that, it's remarkably well-preserved. I'm guessing it's from the 1940s, maybe a war souvenir? That's my guess anyhow.
