Designed as a gas powered street lamps/poles in the late 1800's early 1900's with Patent Date embossed on the bottom center of 1899.
Made from iron and brass, this fixture was electrified some time ago and is in working condition. The upper iron circle has a scalloped leaf design that opens and closes via latch/hatch. The holes going around the leaf crown were designed to let water drain. Three set screws remain inside the frame to stabilize a globe. Each side shows a twisted rope design in brass that connects to the same style in iron. The middle center shows a bulb socket which connects to wiring through the bottom. The iron parts were painted black and some of this has worn off in areas.
Measurements: 29" tall x 18" in diameter. Bottom square base is 7 3/4" square.
