26 volume set of books on the Civil War published by Time-Life. Books are leather-bound, reproduced photographically from the original 1903 first edition. Gold-leaf page edgings. Unused. Each volume is the author's personal account of his/her participation in the war. As an example, one volume is by General Horace Porter, who joined Grant's staff as a lieutenant-colonel and was with to the end. His account covers details of Grant's decisions, his attitudes and his methods of command, not so much the details of the battles.
