2008 BMW 128i with 145,360 miles (will go up slightly)
6 speed manual
Sedona red exterior, black interior
Cold weather package
The time has come to move on from one of my favorite cars I've owned. This car is one of the last naturally aspirated RWD, manual, hydraulic power assist steering coupes built by BMW. This thing has been absolutely fantastic to own/drive and I'm sad to be selling it instead of turning it into a track car like I had planned. I have always considered the 128i a modern day E36 M3 considering it has similar power to weight and dimensions.
Purchased in June 2013 with 52k miles, this was my daily driver until this past fall. I purchased it because I wanted a small, fun to drive, relatively fuel efficient car that wouldn't require a ton of maintenance. I've tried to always keep recommended maintenance up to date and the spreadsheet shows that. Here are some details on its current state:
The good: Long list of maintenance during my ownership (see attached screenshots of my maintenance spreadsheet), fun to drive, smooth usable power, and did I mention its fun to drive? The interior is in pretty good shape for the mileage, most of which was highway commuting for work. Mechanically it's fairly up to date on maintenance including a recent valve cover gasket job. Comes with the style 68 wheels mounted, 135i style 264 wheels in need of tires, new rear Bilstein shocks, and any stock parts I've removed (springs, shifter, maybe a couple others).
The bad: This is not a show car. Due to living in the city for 3+ years and parking on the street plus lots of highway commuting the exterior shows lots of rock chips, both bumpers were "tapped" by my friendly neighbors in the city, and for some reason all plastic parts (bumpers, mirror caps, roof antenna) have peeled/peeling clear coat. It leaves some oil on the ground due to a leaky oil pan gasket (common N5x issue), and the suspension will been a full refresh before too terribly long.
I hate to get rid of this car but life has changed and I don't have the time to put into the maintenance it needs right now. I planned to do all remaining maintenance and a full performance-minded suspension refresh to turning it into a streetable track car. It's ready for someone to put a little love into it and keep enjoying.
Price is OBO, please only reasonable offers. I understand it's higher than KBB but not many manual 128i sports package cars exsist so I've priced it base on other cars for sale and condition. Low ball offers will be ignored. Clean and clear title in my name. No accidents. I believe I'm the 3rd owner but I'll have to get a Carfax to check.
