Beautiful antique chest of drawers from the 1830s, crafted in the Antebellum South. This piece has been in the same family for generations. It’s constructed of walnut, maple, and mahogany with bold turned columns and four graduated drawers — a classic Late Classical / Empire Revival design.
The two lower drawers retain what appear to be original glass pulls. The middle drawer and two smaller upper drawers have antique glass pulls of similar style added at some point in its history. Extra pulls are included in a drawer. Approximately 20" deep x 40" wide x 47" high.
The chest is solid and sturdy, with its original patina and hand-applied 19th-century finish — showing the warm glow and honest wear that only nearly two centuries can produce. It’s ready for another 200 years of loving use and beautiful display.
