I’m reaching out because I’m trying to get back to Richmond where I have family and support.
I moved to Northern Virginia with my wife several years ago. After she passed away, I’ve realized it’s important for me to be closer to people who know and care about me. I’ve worked very hard over the past decade to rebuild my life and stay on the right path, and being near family is the healthiest step I can take right now.
The good news is I already have work lined up in the Richmond area. I have many years of experience in home remodeling—interior trim, decks, awnings, frameless glass showers, kitchens and bathrooms, and most recently exterior remodeling like replacement windows and doors. Lately I’ve been working on the sales side of the industry as well.
Unfortunately, a recent stretch of car repairs and medical bills drained the savings I had set aside for moving. Because of that, I’m struggling to come up with the upfront costs for housing (first month, last month, and deposit).
I’m looking for any opportunity to trade work for temporary housing or reduced rent, or simply a place that might give me a chance to get settled while I start working in Richmond.
I’m dependable, experienced in many areas of construction and home improvement, and willing to work hard. I just need a chance to get back on my feet in the right place.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
